Canadian paperwork processing takes a looong time. Almost 2 years. Friend found a job in Canada back in 2021, visa only got approved last month.

I thought Australia had a website where they list jobs that they need manpower for?

There's workforce.au, but that one is for "Australians only".

Definitely a political move. We'll know how long term it is after the next GE.

Had been speaking to 2 employers and they were ready to apply for EP but didn’t have the budget for the package that I was asking for..

Getting EP itself is not an issue I believe. The problem is that HR/headhunters sometimes are lazy to pass the CVs of those who need EP sponsorship up the chain to the hiring managers. So your CV is our before the hiring manager can even see what skills ans experience you have. Another issue is the waiting time. Usually you would only hand in the resignation letter after your EP got approved, so it effectively lengthens your notice period.

For Canada, there is a scheme called "Express Entry" which takes around 6 months to process. With it, one can secure the PR before coming to Canada.

For Australia, I have limited knowledge, but anecdotally there has not been such a huge influx of foreigners there as compared to Canada recently, even with seemingly higher salaries and better weather. So I reckon there must be a higher barrier to entry.

I would rather go back to India than go to Canada. I cant take cold. I see you are from Vietnam from your handle? But the way you write sounds very similar to how an Indian would write, lol. Maybe you can consider Malaysia or Thailand? The pay is lower but there is no way I would giveup the tropics for frozen land.
