After my first trip to Langkawi probably 20y ago where I saw fully cladded (eye line included) Muslim ladies swimming in the sea I think I got desensitized and would not even notice those in swimming hijabs.

I’ve seen it in Malaysia many times, wearing street clothes in the water… it does detract from the beach vibe… for me anyway. Reminds more of a hillbilly shindig in the pond out back. I grew up in a beach town in the US, so that could be why. On the flip side, I also haven’t gotten desensitized to the topless females on the beaches in Thailand, try as I may.

Try the nude beaches in Aussie.

I've done cable beach in Broome but that was 28 years ago. I've also done Black's Beach in San Fran and several others around the country (US). Really doesn't bother them or me. I was an occasional naturist for a large part of my younger adult life. Prior to having a family (kids) and the current marriage.

I've never really been bothered by nudity either, I believe it's a cultural thing, so I can imagine Singaporeans would be very shocked, whereas Europeans wouldn't have much of a reaction at all.

I remember walking alone down the streets of Melboune one time (business trip, around 2003-2004), and this vagrant looking guy just whips it out for all to see and starts peeing right there on the sidewalk, a mere 2m in front of me… without hesitation or reaction, I promptly walked around and kept walking - did not look back. Definitely not something I wanted to witness - but it was one for the memory books.

Hahahaha, this is a common sight in China, JB, and even parts of the US

40 years ago it was common as well in the heartlands here although the pogrom again doing so was ongoing when I first arrived here. Not so much adults but adults allowing the children to do so.

What? Looking at the singapore we have now, I can't imagine that.

Definitely saw many parents directing their kids to relieve themselves just about anywhere, even back 20 years ago. The nearest drain grate was often a favorite. The last time I recall seeing such a thing was at Wild Wild Wet in Pasir Ris maybe 8 years ago… quite a few and they not even being discrete or considerate about it. Guess they figured everything is already wet, what’s wrong with a little more.

I've even seen adults piss, wherever they want, an incident that sticks out took place at West Coast Park, best part is that there was a bathroom 100 feet away.

I’d speculate that the decline in this sort of activity might have something to do with the fact that everyone has a camera on their smart phone these days.

I believe that. Things used to be so much simpler.
