Housing subsidies are just a bonus, not a right. OP should already demonstrate being financially able to purchase a house instead of relying on a maybe-citizenship to get govt subsidies.

From ICA & HDB POV, other Singaporeans families need a house too leh. Not just PRs with the potential to be citizens.
Don't get me wrong, we need citizen to quickly buy a house due to both PR required to fulfil min 3years timeline. My wife just approved on this Feb. ](*,)
Bro, you need to re-read what I wrote.

Let me spell it out for you: If I was an ICA officer and the more you say you want citizenship to have subsidised housing, the more I will not grant it because you want citizenship for the wrong reasons.

Citizenship is for those who want to sink roots into SG, not because you want cheap(er) housing.

You have to demonstrate first that you are able to afford a house without the subsidies. I already say subsidies are a privilege, a bonus, not a right.

Completely agree. Subsidies are extended to those with citizenship, citizenship is not offered for subsidies.

Any kids?

I'd say you have a very good chance. Profile is solid. The next step after PR is citizenship, and it's been more than two years since you've been granted PR so it's a natural time to apply.
No kid, I ady apply after granted PR 1 year. My application pending for more than 15months ady.
May I know what your outcome citizen status is now?
