I hadn't thought about it that way at all, you're right. Singaporeans are getting married later and later, the government knows this. Nobel thought, but with the country's self-propagation problems (continuing falling birth rates) it would only heighten that issue to the point that every first pregnancy would become a high risk one.
Pregnancies after 35 are already considered geriatric.

Smart Singaporeans have seen the leases NOT being renewed in places like Geylang Bahru landed properties and are anxiiously watching the old SIT flats in Jln Bahagia and Tiong Bahru area. This shows that the govt is unlikely to renew HDB leases (at least this govt). All the WP has to to win is promise to immediately and irrevocable top up all leases by 99 years.

Yup. But the older generation is undeniably dying off, there's a new generation of voters coming of age. Eh, I have some reservations about WP's proposals too. And VERS is still a work in progress. It will be interesting, that's all I'll say. Hm.. actually the most vocal anti-establishment people seem to be the old uncles and aunties. The most outspoken parties seem to have a hard time attracting youth involvement, and tend to harp on old rivalries. I think what you say is true in a way, once the 'legacy' leaders are no longer in the picture, perhaps new parties will form. I must disagree. It would be a waste. And I don't fancy living in a new building if it's 40 storey. That's true. Unfortunately they receive no funding (obviously) so reach is limited. That being said I've always believed that good ideas speak for themselves.
