1. Comfortable pair of trekking shoes. Running shoes are ok but doesn't provide much traction.
2. A hand towel for you to wipe away the pespiration
2.1 A fresh pair of clothings in case you want to change.
3. Water, 1-2 litre depending on how much you want to drink.
4. Insect repellant.
5. Wear comfortable clothings, dry-fit material preferred as cotton base shirts/pants tend to absorb your pespiration.
6. Energy bar ?? just in case you feel hungry
7. Deep heat, incase you got cramps
8. A poncho, in case it rains
9. Sun glasses, incase if it doesnt rain and the day is hot and bright.
10. Sun block.
Remember, all these are weight added and will tire you as you walk along the trail, so pack it well and balance the weight so that you don't bring unnecessary.
Enjoy your trek.

seeing that there are some interest in treks and climbs. Anyone of you keen on doing a smaller scale trek up Mt. Datuk (in Malacca) ? about 800m above sea level, it is a starter for newbies.
Let me know if you are keen, I will try to organize one. Min 10 pax. Price about 60-80 SGD per head for day trip.
Mt Datuk

Hi, I'm new in the forum. Sorry to butt in to the conversation mid way. I've done Mt Datuk last March. Intensity level is definately newbie level 2.
Must have frequent cardio exercise for this because the trail is a little on the steep side. Not much variation, just steep all the way up. Towards the peak is rocky but summit view is fantastic as you can see Seremban town, not Malacca though.
Btw, I'm from KL Malaysia. [/img]
