It depends, and you get what you pay for - independent developers will charge you less than those who work for an agency, but with an agency you'll get better support and a better finished product. We'd charge upwards of $10,000 for a relatively simple website (I work for ), but the whole thing is designed from the ground up (including the CMS) so that it fits your needs.

Freelancers and independent developers will probably charge much less, but quite often they'll adapt basic websites and templates to fit your needs, without creating it from scratch.

Alternatively, you could look at setting up a website yourself - you should be able to pick up hosting and a domain name for less than $20 per month, and you can use a free CMS like WordPress to set up your site and to customise it on an ongoing basis. Of course, if you're not a professional then this will be the lowest-quality option, as well as the cheapest.

step one, collect all the headings that you want to write about - for me, it was conditions that i treat, but for a company offering hello kitty face masks, you'd have a heading, a piece of text about the merits of the hello kitty mask, and a photo.

The nice thing about having all of your text written before you publish the site is that it takes about thirty minutes to get everything completed.
