I don't think borax is readily available here. A couple years ago my daughter was really into making slime, and most recipes call for borax, but I wasn't able to find it at all so she had to use my husband's contact lens solution and baking soda instead.

Didn’t see ants for a few months before they came back again (in smaller numbers) so I’m adding Antbreaker once more.
Another habit I practice is that I do not discard any sweet/food wrappers or drink cans/cartons into any rubbish bins at home. That will definitely attract ants.
I have another smaller bin that I put at my kitchen sink meant for food trash that I empty out every night and wash weekly.
I went a step further, I put up a trashcan in the kitchen, suspended in mid air in the hopes that the ants wouldn't be able to get to it, but they still found away.

or golden rooster ant bait when all else fails (depending on how big the colony is and/or how your place is like - might only work for a while).
Talc doesn't work for me. Used to, but I believe the ants built up a resistance to it over time.

Try Advion ant gel. I googled and read it’s what pros use. I saw it on Shopee or Lazada and it was so overpriced. I got a four pack from this US website domyown.com at a much better price. Next best is Terro, comes in little white and yellow bottles and sold at NTUC although not as good. The rest of the supermarket baits don’t work after awhile. I detest them too, they make me so stressed and upset. Bait is the only thing that works when they show up.

I usually add around a small teaspoon of white vinegar to my floor cleaner every time i mop the floor. Never seen any ants after that. cheapest and least effort way of solving it

I realised the ants powder only work on specific type of ants?
Sometimes I use blutec to seal of the hole areas where the ants come through.

I’ve only replaced the bait once, maybe twice in the last year, at the first sign of new ants coming in… and they too disappear.
The powder baits they sell here are pretty useless, might work on some ants, not others. Not sure if Terro is sold here, but it should be.

Vinegar is great! I use it on stains a lot.

Does blue tack work? Seems like it's a pretty unsightly solution.

I was skeptical at first because it didn’t seem like the ants were taking the bait right away… you just have to leave it in their path, they will find it and they will take it back to kill the rest.
The other thing I have brought back from the US in the past year or so is Spectrum Weed and Grass Killer. I’ve never found anything like it here, and it was only $4-5 for the spray foam. We’ve often got weeds or grass growing in the concrete around our balcony/planter boxes… if left to grow, the roots can cause small cracks that cause water seepage. The stuff works, killing growth in places where I can’t reach.

Ah, forgot about that. Though to be honest, I've never understood why certain items can be checked but not brought in cabin. They're arguably more dangerous in the belly of the plane where they can't be dealt with if anything goes wrong.
