Tatsu, how did you go with this? I have been thinking the same way to enter Singapore may work for me. My wife is a secondary school teacher - I am thinking if she gets a position in Singapore myself and our child can join her as dependents.

Far simpler than Entrepass which seems to be reserved for multi million dollar ventures.

You should be aware that the OP has made exactly one post and that was on Nov 6. Chances are very high that he is a spammer, wanting only to insert his website link into this website so that the search engines will pick it up.

Hello,

I am a foreigner living abroad and I want to start a retail shop business in Singapore to import, source locally and sell affordable Men's Clothings, Unique Cultural Handicrafts and traditional items and souvenirs from my country.

Can I register a partnership business and get EntrePass and Visa so that I can relocate to Singapore, rent a shop and manage my own shop? I will hire employee after my business have good traction.

Also without being an E-pass holder and having business registration documents I don't think I can rent a commercial space.

Can anyone tell me the step by step planning and process to follow and what should I do?

I want to start a new life in Singapore and build a new career.

I do not wish to dissuade you from your dreams, and the probability of you receiving approval to open a small retail shop business in Singapore is about zero.

You see, Singapore does not want foreigners coming into Singapore, opening small businesses that would push Singaporean citizens out of owning similar small businesses.

You must remember that the purpose of employment passes, including the Entrepass, is not to assist the applicant but rather to improve the social and economic fabric of Singapore.

Therefore, if you had money or investors and were going to open several shops that immediately hired Singaporeans, you might have a very strong chance of being approved. But to open one shop on a shoestring budget, and maybe, after a while, hire a Singaporean helper? No chance.

Singapore seeks university educated talent, or skilled business professionals who can create businesses that support Singaporeans. That's the bottom line.

As a footnote, have you been to Singapore? Have you seen the number of clothing shops that infest every corner of the island?
