Singapore Expats

I'm moving to Singapore soon and was wondering if there are restrictions on bringing food, plant products, chemicals etc into Singapore like there are in Australia?

The sort of thing I'm debating packing in my shipping container would be the usual products available at a supermarket/food store/home store I.e. tinned vegetables, bleach, washing detergent, pasta etc. Nothing perishable. Obviously all of this would be readily available in Singapore but thought it might be useful to have arrive at my apartment with the rest of my belongings, have already stocked up in UK before I was offered my new job which has all happened at pretty short notice and would be a shame to waste it, might as well being it with me if I can, as my employer will be paying for shipping.

My shipping company (from US) wouldn't pack any of that kind of thing.
We had a combo pack of spray-on sunblock and lotion sunblock. They took the spray-on out and said they couldn't ship it.

Just give it to a friend or something.

On the other hand, our movers from the US allowed everything you identified. Your best bet is to call your contact at the moving company and ask what is allowed by them.

Other than meat products, there are no import restrictions on any of the things you mentioned.
As others have pointed out, whether your shipper's rules allow it is a separate issue.

Our movers would not pack everything as well, but I pushed back. Had learned of the possibility from other expat family.

As soon as we were in disagreement, I called the relo agent who then called moving company. Moving company had packing guidelines to work for various countries. My relo agent clarified SG requirements and then they packed everything that I had. Think that spray cans had to go via sea.
