In my case and a few of my friends cases who were all residing in Singapore, the REP was renewed almost instantaneously online when we applied.. Click a few buttons, enter a few details, pay the fee and voila! REP renewed for another 5 years from the date of submission online (although everyone applied atleast 3 months before the expiry of their current REP). I also know a couple of cases where the persons was no longer residing in Singapore - posted overseas on deputation or altogether employed overseas. In the former case, a visit to ICA with a letter from employer resolved the situatiion and in the latter, a 1 year conditional REP was provided and the person was asked to return back to SG and be gainfully employed for further renewals.

Also, looking at your details, I'm just curious to know when did you apply to buy a condo and how were you able to secure a loan for that property given the salary that you have stated :o .... unless you come from a wealthy wealthy background

My thoughts also regarding the condo.

Regarding REP, for some, the renewal is automatic (as you renew online , you will receive the approval in a few minutes). For some it might take a few days.
Just hang in there.

Will be interested to hear the outcome of this REP renewal. Have seen some earlier posts in this forum suggesting renewal could be tough, especially as you're post mentions you now have a son and recently applied for PR for your wife only and not your son.

After i submit the application, acknowledgment says

You may use the 'Check Application Status' facility to determine the status of your application in 5 Working Days from Submission
Date.

so means the processing time is 5 days?

i am working in Singapore(Not overseas).

Ah okay, that makes more sense. But why did you drop your son in the second time application ? I'm not an expert on this, but logically I would think if ICA going to approve your wife's PR they would do so on the basis whole family commits to Singapore for long-term, which also means your son and the NS obligation that comes with it.

Probably already knows you joined the residents committee only to get brownie points to apply for PR for your family to enable them to get better slots in the school of your choice. The gigs up.

No, it means your application's status will not be available until 5 working days after submission.

1) If with that salary you could take 600K loan, then I should be able to take approx 2.4 mil loan, but why in fact I can't??? Wouldn't you give away all if not most of your salary as mortgage?

2) Who is Gross root leader? If I become one of them, can I buy expensive condo?

3) Condo 999 years seems too far in the future, there is no guarantee mankind won't exterminate itself in 1000 years ahead.
