Singapore Expats

I have been trying to call the infant care centres these few days because i want to send my baby to infant care in December.
But they told me that there is no available slot for me and i have to wait till next June 2015.
Do you know any private infant care centres or a good nanny at/near To a Payoh?
Hope someone could share more information with me.

What kind of infant care centre are you calling?!?
We started looking a month or so before we needed care (our daughter was 18 months at the time) and found a place within two weeks. In my experience nobody in Singapore plans ahead a year or more!
Try NTUC child care (it's called MyFirstSchool or something like that)!

I called My first Skool, Kinderland, Nurture Star, Club HDB Child care and etc.
All don't have any slots for me.
They told me normally the mummies registered with them once they are pregnant. Actually, i am quite late now. I was quite surprised when i heard it

Infant care is from 2 months to 18 months and it is not easy to get a slot as there are not many infant care centre.

May I know how old is your baby?

beppi, your daughter was 18 months. That's fall under child care service.

I am going to due in August 2014 and planning to send my baby to infant care when she is 4 months. I have been calling other infant care and it is so difficult to get a slot for my baby.

Have you all try to contact agent to look for nanny? Are they reliable?

Socializing is essential so my vote goes to infant care

Yes, I find that babies who are cared for by institutions with constantly changing staff members and everyday exposure to numerous viruses and bacterial infections become much better socialised through their lack of eye contact with other humans. It is so unfortunate that some infant humans have only a few caregivers with whom they form attachments to, thus laying the foundation for unhelpful things like trust, respect, and care. Extremely antisocial and so easily avoided through using institutional infant care. Very sad. Orphanages have long demonstrated the benefits, but many parents have been slow to learn.

Am confused a bit there

Which part confuses you?

For example, I have never been in kindergarten and I have chickenpox when I was 25 years old. Do you know how many scars now I have? Two on my face and 5,6 on my legs. SO ... be wise, socialize your children to develop their immune system.

Couldn't agree more. They say vaccination works but this has not been proven by evidence yet. The best way to fight disease is to group infants and young children together away from their parents, to be cared for by strangers who are only there because they get paid. Peer reviewed studies show this to be true.
