Hello!

I am an Australian, mid-30's single professional female looking to move in the next few months. Need some advice on areas to look for accommodation. Following guidelines my answers below-

-Budget SGD 3500 to 5000 per month.
-Office on Anson Road.
-Looking for 1 bedroom, furnished apt in complex with good facilities and other professional expats.
-Need to be close to transport, would like less than 20 min commute to work (walk or transport).
-No car, kids, pets etc
-I would like to be reasonably close to Orchard MRT (for yoga classes, not shopping!)

Would also gratefully receive any advice on places to make new friends etc. I have been an expat for years but never in SEAsia so starting fresh.

Thanks in advance.[/i]

Depending on how long you anticipate living in SG, I would suggest considering an option different than furnished housing. While there may be some nicely furnished locations, many have "not so nice" finishes.

- buying the basics from ikea-like stores and donating as you leave
- leasing furniture of your choice.

Enjoy the next stage of your journey.

Your next step would be checking out this website's classifieds. Some landlord/main tenant advertise for a single expat to move into one of the available rooms in the house.

Your budget is definitely enough for ONE room within Orchard. In fact, it is enough to rent a whole condominium for yourself a little bit farther from the city centre.
