Singapore Expats

Any suggestions on high-quality, cost is (almost) no object day care for infants (starting at three months)? I'm looking for a place with a ratio of one English-speaking teacher per two or three babies -- the kind of place with an open door policy for parents, that gives you a sheet at the end of the day detailing exactly when and how much your baby ate, slept, and got his diaper changed.

Please don't tell me to get a nanny. I don't want a live-in, and am looking for a center with trained professionals.

Try the PATS centres, their all over Singapore.

Were moving to SG in March but we had a visit in November. We spent a day visting numerous Day care centres. We found the quality of service at all of the centres to be of a very high standard. Easily comparable to what our son receives in Australia at the moment.

I've seen a couple of reference to "PATS centres" but cant' find anything on the internet. What is the minimum age they accept (we have a 6 mth old baby) and any idea on cost? Do they have a website?

Pat's School House does not provide infant care. They accept children who are 18 months and older. In general, there are few infant care providers in Singapore, and the ratio of infants to teachers is higher than that in the U.S. This link provides a list of infant care centres in Singapore. http://www.childcarelink.gov.sg/ccls/up ... You can try Joewe Preschool and infant care centre at serangoon north ave 4. Over there, they have large area cater for infant and toddlers. The teachers are all trained and have many years of experiences. beside daily care for you child, they do observation report for infants as well, daily documentation of the amount of food the child consume,the time they consume, the number of times they change diapers, the time the child sleep and awake. Daily temperature and health check are taken. Beside that,they have parent teacher conference for infants and toddlers 2 times in a year. They have learning corner for toddlers ages 10-18 mths. The junior infants always have floor time when they are awake. Most of their junior infants can sit by 5 mths and some even crawl by 6 mths. Their junior infants mostly take porridge by 4 mths. Menu are planned by the management and cooked by the nurse. This centre encourages children to take more vegetables.

don't do the above...try Babies Inc and i believe Pats does have one infant care centre. what you are looking for is exactly what we had in the UK for our son but much harder to find here as lots of people have maids or spouses don't work. try the big names for piece of mind

Hey...have u enrolled in the school before? If you have not,how do you know it's not a good school? Not all big name school are a good school...I should say you should look for quality teachers and not just the name of the school

jocelynglc, sorry - i was in a hurry and i shouldn't have been so judgemental. only thing is i see you respond to these quite a bit and it always worries me when i see individuals of childcare centres and schools 'advertising' in this way. much like the woman who always tries to promote ICS on this site. perhaps you are just a happy parent and if that is the case then please accept my apologies.

You could try Pat's Schoolhouse at Baby Haven and Arena Centre. They provide great infant care and should satisfy your requirements.

Looking for one for my 20mth son. Is Pat's schoolhouse available in Bukit timah or Bukit batok area? My son really missed his regular playgroup event.

Pls make sure u visit the infant & toddler care ctr at different times of the day. Hv been working for a famous one but the school and teachers suck - 30 children wf 6 teachers but children not divided into classes. All teachers just watching 30 kids running abt. they reuse the props for ear thermometer after rinsing them. The daily reports were made up by the supervisor w/o asking the teachers responsible. no books no toys in the room - children so bored they fight and bite each other. Montessori material not authentic - no teachers there really knows abt Montessori anyway. They only let the kids throw materials around. So be careful - dun trust what they say but see for yrself!

hi.
i'm a malaysia mother holding singapore work permit. Looking for an infant day care nearby Bukit Timah.
i hope to get centre which having enough professional trained teachers, small teaching group (2-3 babies) is more preferable.
Feel that singapore infant care provide better environment for a baby but really no idea which is good. hope to get some advices...
