Singapore Expats

Hello,

I recently moved to Singapore with my husband and 19 mnth old daughter. I want to enroll my daughter in either a preschool, daycare or nursery for a few hours, not necessarily on a daily basis, even if just a few times a week. I want to take some courses but i do not have a nanny to watch my daughter while i am out and i prefer for my daughter to socialize with other kids while i am not around.

i have visited a few schools around my area (Newton/Novena) and also other areas which will take my daughter in but i found them to be too expensive for such a young age (sgd$20,000/year). that exceeds my budget honestly.

I am looking for some place clean, fun, safe, preferably close by but not necessarily and wont break the bank!

Can you please advise me of such places if anyone knows.

Try pre-schools on HDB premises?
One of them that I know of charges S$1000 per month for a full-time toddler (foreigners)
Half-day (4 hours) they charge around S$350 per month (foreigners)

$20,000 per year sounds like an awful lot!!!

I am also starting the search for a pre-school. Specifically I want a Mandarin immersion program for the next 4 years N1-K2, (not sure how easy it will be to find that). I am looking for mornings only.

When my boy was in pre-school we were paying $10,000 per year for 5 mornings a week at a school which everyone kept telling me was expensive.
I am hoping the cost will not be much more now.
