Singapore Expats

I'm planning a 10 -14 days holiday from end Aug - early Sep in the neighbouring area. I have ready went to the usual SEA destinations previously. Any new & interesting destinations you will recommend other than my list below? Preferable not so touristy ones.

Been:
Malaysia - Penang, Langkawi, KL, Genting, Cameron
Thailand - Phuket, Bangkok, Pattaya, Krabi, Chang Mai & Koh Samui
Philippines - Boracay & Manila
Indonesia - Bali, Medan, Jakarta, Surabaya & Bundung
Taiwan - Taipei
HK - done.
Korea - Seoul.

Maybe you can choose to add from the following:
Malaysia: Redang, Kota Kinabalu
Philippines: Palawan, Cebu
Taiwan

If not SEA region:
Japan (if you have the budget)
China: Shanghai (if you have the budget)

Laos
Cambodia
Vietnam
Myanmar

I think the OP needs to better define their question.
Are they aiming at lying on the beach +/- beauty treatments? Culture/history? Cuisine? How far and hard are they willing to travel to destination? Do they wish to pursue sports/activities? Boutique hotels, vs big-chain monoliths, or as cheap as possible? Can they deal with a place with no roads, and/or sporadic internet. How unpredictable/(dangerous) can they deal with?

p.s. Apparently northern Iraq is opening up too (Erbil etc?), but as with Afghanistan, it might still be a bit 'hot' for me [and never mind the risks at destination, my wife would probably kill me if I booked a trip to either hehe...

I still have this dream to visit Surigao and see how much or "Japanese" iron is sitting there .. though I was told the wrecks are too deep and need a technical dive .. beyond me for now.

Very hard question to answer. Without knowing OP's interests, it could very subjective. If it were to be me, I'd whack a list of places for:
1. Food. Just local food.
2. Remote beach/islands that would require you to change planes twice followed by a jeep and probably a boat and a seaplane.
3. Villages and unique towns that would require navigating through forests either on foot or jeep, relying solely on locals as guide.

Just had 3 weeks in SriLanka and absolutely loved it! You have a large cultural area, tea plantations and highland forests/plains, great surfing and beaches and a nearly forgotten unexplored northern half of the country that is only just reopening to tourism. Lovely friendly people and great food too!
Also agree with Cambodia. I'm heading back to Otres Beach for New Year.
