I’m just asking this coz I have never seen someone with a nose job have a much thinner nose. My nose is very wide and I want it to be MUCH thinner.

Yes, there are number of techniques used during rhinoplasty surgery that will make the nose appear narrower is called Alar Base Reduction (reduction of the nostrils). However, by increasing the projection of the nose it can eliminate the need for Alar Base Reduction.

Can Alar Base Reduction be used when the size of the nostrils are disproportionally enlarged relative to the nasal tip?

Thanks a lot! I have the same problem either. I’m planning to do a nose job next year and I’ll ask the surgeon about these questions.

Hi Binamo, i hope I'm not too late to answer your query. Just like you, I'm not too satisfied with my nose and considering a rhinoplasty surgery very soon. According to my surgeon ( Dr. Stephanie Power from Power Plastic Surgery clinic ), African-American rhinoplasty will be the best procedure that would perfectly suit my facial structure. So If you have any such requirements, I would recommend you to discuss with your surgeon once.
