I have decided to apply for the PR. However, after I filled in all of the necessary paperwork and tried to find a slot in the e-Appointments system, there is nothing available. From January 2017 onwards, there aren't any PR slots open.

For those that have recently managed to get an appointment to submit the application, what method did you use?

1. Did you simply check every single day for an opening (cancellation)?

I did that, in the early morning usually.
Yes the slots usually full for half a year from todays date

2. Is there any other method to submit your application besides getting an e-Appointment?

Not sure, heard you can drop in documents in their mailbox.

3. The website clearly states that submission of PR application is by appointment only. Is it possible to walk into the Permanent Resident Services Centre to secure an appointment?

Same as 3

4. Has anyone used an agent or legal company like "Immigrant Solutions" or "Paul Hype Page" to secure an appointment? One of them claims they can accelerate the appointment process.

Its a scam, dont do it.

for appointments, best is you should book the earliest available date even if it is on january 2017.
assuming that is your "best case scenario" at least you already secure a slot.

note that you STILL can change your appointment date twice, therefore ... after grabbing a slot for yourself in jan 2017, keep checking earlier dates for available slots ... there will be someone who will reschedule their slots due to circumstances and if you happen to saw it, well just jump on it.

If you drop in the letter box, this is what happens, based on own observation:

2+ months or so later, they may ask you to send in additional details, latest 6 month pay slip etc.

And once you sent them, another 2+ month or so later, you get another letter giving you an appointment date 5 months or so away. So, 2+2+5 = 9 ++ months.

If that's the plan of ICA, the folks who thought of this plan are brilliant, in their way to stop those who try to short cut the e-appointment system. But I suspect it's all simply due to the volume of applications.

And those who take this route can't bring forward the appointment, as the customer service guys in ICA will read the letter stating the appointment date and be like "if you were given a date in January 2017, please come back on that date ... ".

I would suggest you to stick to one option.

Letter box + online may lock you out, totally.

someone told me to check the online booking system every single morning. something should come up once another cancels
