Singapore Expats

We've discussed VPNs before, and how to watch UK TV. In short it's a PITA, and hugely more so since approx last Autumn when they became very smart at identifying and blocking UK VPNs. Despite having a supposedly quality VPN subscription it has become almost impossible to use it for live broadcasts.

As the rugby was on today I have *once again* been digging around for a fix to this. It seems I might just have one; and it's unexpectedly simple - or so it seems.

1) I'm connected to my VPN, with my ip address in London.
2) I open my browser and go to http://www.tvguide.co.uk/ [free/no subscription/apparently no ads either]
3) and there are all the UK TV channels. Or all the main ones plus about 50 in total.
4) I just watched a test-period of live tennis on BBC1 - no probs. I then watched some F1 racing on C4, which is now followed by live horse-racing.

Hmmm.... seems almost too simple to be true, but we'll see. Note: I'm not in any way connected with the linked company, it just came up via some intensive Googling This site is also not linked to the house-hold US brand 'TVGuide'.
ps. Another suggestion that came up in my research was accessing via a VPN and Hola [Hola.org]. I haven't explored that further yet and won't as long as the previously linked keeps on working.

p.s/ADD: Live Euro 2016 [football] on ITV works too....

Just tried that, right into live BBC1 without a VPN. Looks promising, I'll check out other channels later.

If the Rugby is on "Terrestrial TV" then it can be watched.

I have been using this site to watch the Football as its on ITV and BBC1.

That 'channel' also streams Canadian, German, Swiss, Indian [etc*loads] stations.
Re: the US, it has an option for 'US - pay TV channels' .... not sure how that pans out, (but no matter for me...)

Yep apparently DD is the current presenter.
The format is buying homes at auction. Then following the properties and their buyers through the roller-coaster challenges of usually major building works [some shrewd, some foolish], and watching the end result get valued by a local property agent or two. Some people [newbies] buy stuff which are complete disasters unknown to them; other people spot an opportunity and make good on it. It's classic UK style 'property porn' as it's called

Seems like someone had a word with someone , was unable to watch the European Championship football last night on FILMON. It was blocked and had a Test Card only, stating "No watching the football"

Had to watch via an alternative source.

Good find , that used to be my Sporting Channel of choice , but someone caught up with it and it got take down.

Sports is the only real hang up for Cord cutting. It's tough. I've tried hola and uk dedicated ip vpn in the past for accessing uk streaming sites.

I'm pleased I found this thread. I'm a newbie and I think I want the comfort of having some of my UK shows. I'm sure I'll be too busy enjoying things to bother with TV shortly but will all the moving, I'm tired and just want to crash with some good TV. I honestly didn't know where to start!

I don't doubt you are tired. Especially posting from a US ISP......that has been recently fingered as a Forum Spam site....
