ive just rented a room where the futon bed is filthy and the base, like a piece of wood holding up the boards for the futon mattress, tis broken so the futon is sinking in the middle!! ohh my aching back! and sleepless nites!

what needs to be done. can i just hit some nails thru from the base into that block of wook (its like the middle 'leg' ) for the base which holds the mattress.

also, is vacuuming enough? i think its never been vacuumed!
it will cost me too much to have it steam cleaned and all..
anyway.. will aprreciate any advice,tks
