Hi . We have applied for citizenship online in May. Yesterday got talking to a Friend who has applied in Jan and said they booked an appointment for verification of documents submitted online .

When I searched the ICA , could not find this . So asking those of you who have recently applied , did you have to book an appointment once you submitted your online application ?

Thank you !

Methinks you misunderstood. They were probably requested to make an appointment to verify their docs by ICA. You do not need to make an appointment unless they request it. If they do they will tell you what to do.

I am not very clear on this. (1) Does that mean ICA shall send a Physical letter to the applicant who has made SC application for making an appointment to verify the documents. Based on such a letter the applicant shall log in to the ICA website and then book an appointment. Is it like that. [OR] (2) will there be a indication in the system itself (not by physical letter) communicating the applicant to register for an appointment. Please confirm which option is applicable of the above 2 either Option (1) or Option (2).

You are mixing up things. In the current system for SC Application, there is no need to go to submit documents physically anymore.

Did you read through the SC Application Website. Did they ever ask you to make appointment for document verification? This was there 1+ year ago. Not anymore.

I believe such requests are sent through email. Almost a year after I submitted my documents at ICA (mid 2018 IIRC), ICA did email me to tell me to finalise my tuition grant bond for my university studies with MOE before they continue processing my application.
