Hello everyone,

So I have been working in the casino as a table games dealer for a year. I love what I am doing but my skills are extremely specialised and I do not intend to travel overseas for work. I am just wondering what kind of businesses I can start with my experience as a table games dealer? Anyone has any experience or ideas to share?

Nothing legal, I'm afraid, except in one of the 2 casinos

And we don't even know if you're skilled at dealing cards or scraping chips of the roulette or craps tables.

And, you've already figured out that either skill isn't particularly transferable in its current form.

If you can write, you could use your experience to tell others how to play casino games. Of course, there are already a million people with books about how to play and win in casinos, and unless you are a dunce, you know this is not true... over the long haul, you cannot win.

You could write a book about becoming a casino dealer... what it takes, what it pays, how to apply, what is good and bad. The problem here is that not a whole lot of people want to become casino dealers... you will have a limited market.

So... how about your customer interaction skills. Do you work well with the people at the tables. Do you chat with them? You might ought to consider a sales job. If you are a good card mechanic, you might try your luck at becoming a magician.

I found this topic because I was in a similar situation two years ago. If you're looking to develop in this area, then you have limited choices, as mentioned above. The first option is through well-known casinos, where getting a job might not be so straightforward. The second route involves public organizations that assist in regulating and aiding people with gambling addiction (you can easily find them through a quick online search). Your experience there may come in handy (I'm serious). Personally, I lean towards the second option, but everyone should choose what resonates with them - no one has the right to judge.
