Dear expat users,

My wife's SPass was terminated on end of Feb and MOM has issued a STVP valid til end of Mar. Actually, she has planned to leave Singapore on 31 March, but the COVID-19 situation now so complicated, if she goes back to our country will be put under the isolated quarantine for 14 days, we even could not buy the direct flight ticket as both governments have deferred all the travel from SEA. I did try extend her STVP but without success

, the ICA officer said that her STVP could not be extended and advised us to go to MOM which we plan to try on next Monday.

Does anyone here know how to extend the STVP issued by MOM after pass cancellation? Any help would be appreciated.

Uncharted territory. The usual advice would be to go for a trip somewhere and get another 30/90 days on return. Obviously that's not possible now. I guess plead your case with MOM. They should have some contingency in place for people being stuck here.

Not uncharted territory. SVP issued at the end of employment contract cancellation of work visa is not extendable by law. Doubtful if MOM will budge but nothing stopping you from trying. I reckon that they would prefer you to leave rather than being another statistic on Singapore Covid-19 charts.

Hi Jaychen - did you find out anything about how to extend the STVP? Did MOM have any advice?

I am in a similar situation. My Employment pass will be cancelled on 20 Apr, and I need to leave SG by 20 May. However, my country has just suspended all flights from Singapore (and most other places in the world). They may lift these by May, or not... So I'm also worried about what I'll do if my visa expires but I can't find any flights to get home.

Which country is that? MOM MAY consider to make some temporary arrangements like extension till the situation like resumption of flights happen.

Hi @serenoli, I went to MOM office this morning, they have advised my wife to contact her former employer to submit the form below: https://www.mom.gov.sg/extend-stay

Seems like a lot of cases same as her, the officer answered immediately without listening the context

)

Hi,
I'm in a simmilar situation but I'm waiting for my diploma Student Pass to be issued. Surrendered my old student pass and currently on STVP expiring 6 april.

Should I request for an extension online? My flights been cancelled and I don't think I'll be able to fly back or leave sg in the first place..

I'm in the same situation and my STVP expires on Friday. Do you know how long does it take for MOM to get back with the answer?

Hi Jaychen, Good hear that your wife got STVP extension for 30days and she can stay in singapore till 30-Apr. But are you able to get further extension as currently there is no flights operating and we stuck up in circuit breaker. Please update further for others to know the ICA/MOM provision in this difficult situation.thanks
