Singapore Expats

Hi i have a job offer and am considering to change job. I am malaysian holding work permit pass

I would like to ask if i resign from my current job, do i need to return to malaysia after my wp is cancelled? Or can i stay in singapore on the 2 weeks special pass while waiting for my new employer to issue my work permit so i can start work? My employer will apply for wp to get IPA first.

If you have a Special Pass, you can stay until the date of expiry listed on the Special Pass

Under the How to Cancel section, Step 2 says that after the employer cancels the work permit, he/she may 'print the Special Pass...allows the worker to stay in Singapore before leaving.'
