Probably because you might have to do SHN for 14 days when you come in or else M'sia may close the boarders (or Singapore) and you will have shafted your employment because to tried to game the system by living in M'sia and working here on EP. You gamble, you win or lose. In this case, with the Covid you chances of losing are almost assured.

Due to MCO, Malaysia only allow foreigner to leave the country, they don't allow foreigner to enter.

Unless you are belong to these "diplomats, permanent residents and expatriate pass holders working in essential services sectors"

You have to serve both side SHN 14 days which is 28 days. 1 mth on SHN

Singapore government will bill you, your 14 days SHN. So, who will pay? U? Your company?

If "touch wood" you got the virus. Singapore government will bill you all the hospital bill. Then same question, who pay? U? your company?

BTW, any pass holder want to return to Singapore. Need MOM Approval before they can return.

Just check your previous post, realize you are Malaysian Chinese.
You should know Malaysia MCO requirement better than us

I dont think this is related to MCO or CB measure but tax related.it seems like there is tax implication if an EP holder stay in JB. Initially I thought there should not hav any double taxation and I guess many ppl are in same situation too but somehow my compaany tax team asked me to minimise the number of stay in JB which means I need to move to SG.

So wanted to confirm this with the opinion of members here as well

There are thousand and thousand Malaysian work in Singapore and stay in JB.
Daily in and out before MCO, Never heard before have double tax.

Why dont ask your company tax team, the reason for this.
