Nope, no issue at all. In your case, you just have to wait as you already tick all the right boxes. But still the wait is necessary. Although in your case it's liable to be shorter then people applying who are from other countries. Waits are longer because of the virus.

First I congratulate you on getting "IPA" letter from ICA. Good luck. The reasons you got early might be out of 2 reasons (1) your origin (2) preferred category (3) almost like 7 years working in singapore and (4) FINALLY AGAIN I HAVE FEEL "ONLINE APPLICATION" has made things faster. As people similar to your own status have got much later than you during manual application process. I think inspite of Covid issues...etc your application is way too faster [ 10 months + 10 days] only taken in your case. It is really a big milestone.

I dont know whether you had your education in Singapore for few years before you got a job on EP.

Malaysian Chinese are on a different set of criterias altogether. They're the preferred stock for population replenishment.

Not a milestone at all, in fact, quite normal for Malaysian Chinese with degrees. vig. can't help feeling done by because of all his countrymen screwing up here before he got here. Additionally OP also had either a Civil or Structural Engrg degree. Surprisingly a decent degree although not of the newer types, but Singaporeans do not like slogging around on muddy construction sites so foreigners who don't have those fears, find it's pretty easy to get C&S Engrg jobs. In fact back in the 80's & 90's it used to be a big deal during some of the major civil infrastructure projects like the initial MRT and some of the bigger building construction sites for Australian Civil Engrgs with 1 or 2 years experience would come here and bunk 3 or 4 to an Apartment and stay here to finish at least one project and then return to Australia and start earning almost double what other's of their same cohorts where earning but not having ventured outside Oz. (International exposure is a big deal in the heavy construction industries. This especially so if they have no qualms about working with people of all nationalities instead of trying to create communes of their own kind.

So i am not comparing any other race with the preferred race. I am comparing "preferred race in Manual submission" with "Preferred race in online submission". There are some anecdotal evidence also in these blogs to confirm my point. I was also having a feel like that which is now confirmed. So it is better if you comment after reading clearly the import of my posting.

Usually less than a year for single applicants.

Around a year or slightly more, for families.

It makes the officers job easy if the applicant has a degree and decent income.

But once the blue collar types with families [and especially sons] start applying, I think the officer starts tearing their hair out. Ha

Dear Kenny1234... even in my dream i would under rate any stream of education. I never intended in any of my posting. Yes Singapore has a policy based on its ... own think tank analysis to give preference to some section and not so much preference to other section. No one can question them as giving citizenship is a country's sovereign right and even if openly discriminatory ... no one can question it. However my only limited query was that your case seems to be rarest of the rare as I have not seen even Malaysian chinese writing that I am waiting 14 months and still not yet come .... and some thing like that. The only difference I found from you and the 14 months case is that they applied on or before dec 2018 but you applied in Oct 2019 (after online submission started ie in Jan 2019). This was my simple query but I never thought it will create such a back and forth posting by many.
