Approved EP while holding LTVP

Hi,
Currently I am in Singapore holding an LTVP, but I have received an IPA letter for my EP application, and I would start working soon under the new EP.
Do I need to manually cancel the LTVP before the EP issuance on the first day of work, or just surrendering the card on the first day to my employer (as with the case with disembarkation cards for SVPs) will do?
If I need to cancel the LTVP, do I need to physically come to the ICA?
