I find it has a lot of different types of songs and also in different languages which is great. It has folders that I can create for my playlist and you could listen random genre of songs as well. I still recall those days where we had to buy CDs and listen to only 10 songs...how times have changed.

Or cassettes! Even worse. Then came CDs and DVDs with mp3s on them or mp3s saved to your phone. Things have come a long way for sure!

To add, the other things that I like are - I have a selection of nursery rhymes for the kiddo and different genres of course. Plus I can play it on my smart TV!

Classical, punk, jazz, rap, metal is all there on Spotify. Mongolian folk music, YMMV.

I used to use Spotify. Personally, I prefer Apple Music. I like the interface, generally I find the Spotify app too overwhelming, it seems to be more popular among teenagers.

Using the free version of Spotify is incredibly frustrating. Between the unskippable ads every half hour or so, and the limited features (limited skips), its quite an unenjoyable experience.

Most mainstream streaming services have any genre of music you could possibly think of, not just Spotify. Such is the power of the internet.

Exactly why most people make the switch. The constant ads are insufferable.

I think the biggest plus is Spotify interface is really easy to use..it's affordable and the music selection is huge..I mean anything from classical to rock..you name it..very happy with it.

I’ve tried Spotify and Apple, and it is was just too robotic for me.

If I want to play random music of a particular genre, I will use either TuneIn radio or iHeart radio. I even bought the TuneIn Pro app back when it was 99¢ because it could record, which was great for disconnected playback later on my commute or trips overseas. I recorded both talk shows and music, and could skip commercials. Unfortunately they removed that feature and all my recordings, so I don’t recommend Pro anymore.

Nowadays, most of my music comes from YouTube, just song by song or my own playlists, and if I get a wild hair up my butt, I might just bluetooth stream it to my JBL Boombox II.

I'm a big fan of Spotify, I use it to listen to songs all the time. And I recently got a free membership on my Android device with TuneSolo Spotify Music Converter, so I have a lot of songs in my playlist and don't use other music players.

spotify is the best of the lot compared to its peers: deezer, itunes, amazon music and tidal.
however high cost of subscription! there is also youtube music ( paid) which is fairly decent. and for my scrobbling stats i also use last.fm
