police have those kind of rights in any socialist or communist country. Won't be long before the US can do that as well. Singapore? Doesn't surprise me a bit, after all, look at what they did with the tracetogether app or whatever the early one was called.

I am somewhat worried by non-uniformed government employees having the extraordinary power to force you to open your home to them.

Are these people
- qualified ?
- trained at the same level as uniformed services?
- subjected to stringent background checks?

Are we able to quickly verify their identification at the time when they are demanding access?

A good answer to these questions will make the inspections less adversarial and less stressful for those involved.

I would usually think only the police would go and perhaps in 2s and not in a group.

The article was rather unclear, like what happened in the end, was there a violation of people having a party? Why did neighbour complain? Was the neighbour right?

The authority said officers were responding to “repeated complaints” from residents of the estate that some homes, including Mr Nick Mikhail's, were "having gatherings with more than the permitted number of visitors".

"There were also complaints about the noise generated from the alleged gatherings," added URA.

So 6 of them got inside to check if there is no more than 2 visitors. Makes sense.

Presume selective timing too for when nobody is really partying at that hour
