Hi,
While looking at options of a social visit for my parents from India, found that easiest option could be requesting one of my colleagues for an LOI and apply in their account (can avoid physical document shipment etc.). I am not looking at applying for LTVP as its just for a very short visit. I could not understand if it is a guarantee / undertaking by the person giving the LOI or it is only an LOI (the application allows mentioning as colleague's parents and the visa form providing the details of mine and my address as address of stay). Before checking with my colleagues wanted to ensure the LOI is not very specific about blood relations or close contacts (I am a close contact but not my parents for my colleagues). Thanks!

If your colleagues is PR/Citizen and willing to help then he/she can apply. There is no need of any LOI or v39A form ... I have applied for my friend's parents in the past (before COVID) and never had to upload any additional document.
