AZ and other adenovirus vector vaccines were suspected of severe adverse events - blood clots.
Thoughts were because of the adenovirus virus backbone used to carry the COVID spike protein was drawing the attention of the immune response - eventually you cannot take any more such vaccines (even if they are used for other protein vaccines in the future - flu, RSV, measles for example)
The reason this was never seen before C19 was because they never vaccinated so many people before in studies. Now that you had a few million recipients, you see the side effects.
The mRNA vaccines have been safer, and generates more antibodies. Way to go to choose a weaker vaccine because you think you know more than the scientists studying all the real world data with a lens into all the historical developmental studies….
