It felt so initially when the news came out, why would the plane fly down in such speed and decline.. :???:

Where's this theory coming from?

OK. Never mind. I just Google searched.

Most planes don't go straight down unless commanded to (i.e. pushed down - with the exception of a spin but then more modern planes have spin correction) so most of the time when you see these events (like the Silk Air flight, the Egypt Air flight off US) it's a suicidal pilot.

I wouldn't be surprised if more Chinese pilots start doing this...

Crazy Chinese rules, risk of constantly being in a quarantine centre, no plans to reopen the borders, not easy to change a job...

https://www.aljazeera.com/economy/2022/ ... ovid-rules - this article is about Hong Kong, but in China it may be even worse

The picture of the rescue workers standing their morning sent chills down my spine.

Incredibly sad for all the innocent lives that were lost. Suicide is always a tragedy regardless of the circumstances, but it’s just so selfish to take others down with you.

Yup, the situation in China has seemed pretty bleak recently, especially with the forced quarantines. I’ve read about so many frazzled residents jumping to their deaths from their apartment blocks out of desperation.

Have you seen the videos of residents in China screaming out of the windows of their apartment buildings because they’ve been barred from leaving, even to get food?

Not sure whether it would make you feel any better, but I've heard that those videos of people jumping out of the windows are some old content, not related to the current lockdown. Yes, many terrible things are happening, but there is some fake news as well. The reality in China is so strange that sometimes it's hard to tell what is true or not...

I’ve seen plenty of vids in the news that are supposedly recent, can tell by cam quality too that they are not old incidents.
