PR Application for Children

Hi all. Wanted to get some thoughts. Both wife and I are PRs for quite some time. We have two kids (both are below 5yrs old) but we did not apply PR for them when they were born (outside of Sg) - we have been living away from Sg and planning to return to Sg this year, thus plan to apply PR for the kids.
Given that both parents are PR, would their application stand better chance of getting approved? Would they still be subjected to the lengthy approval process of 4-6months or even longer (this will affect our plan on applying to local schools in Sg.

How long are you away from sg ?
Where are you originally from ?
If you are not working in SG and residing in Sg, chances of kids getting PR is very low or nil.
Fyi, there are many PR's who reside and work in Sg, still are unable to get PR's for their kids.

Thanks for the input. I think we may be an interesting data point. We've been away for more than 10yrs but I have for the most part been employed by Singapore companies (and thus draw salaries and pay tax/CPF in Singapore).
Parents' PR expire this year and we've got our 5yrs renewal recently. We got our REP renewal few weeks after we submitted PR application for the kids, so presumably ICA knows that we're applying for our kids and they renew our PR for 5 years still (previous renewals were also for 4-5yrs). I can't think of a reason for why they would renew our REP if they're not going to approve our kids' application? As this would mean we're less likely to actually reside in Sg.
We're Indonesian Chinese so that may help with our renewal, but not sure about the kids.

You never mentioned about paying tax and cpf in your previous post. Without that the chance is 0 for PR for kids.
Now, I will say that the chances for kid's PR is still around 50% only. REP renewal is not closely related to new PR being approved for the family.
But still you have a decent chance for your kids. Any male kids?

Hi. Yes I have a son. The wait time is just frustrating. I can see others discussing wait time uncertainties elsewhere in the forum.

When did you apply for the kids? And when are you trying to register one of them for P1? To start P1 in 2023 (registration this year) or in 2024 (registration next year)?

Ideally we'd like to part take in the P1 registration in 2022 (for intake in 2023). The PR application went in a couple of months ago in March. We should've submitted the PR application earlier but it's what it's, given the Covid situation where we currently reside we were not sure where we would end up.

I see. You are probably aware but Phase 2C is from 27 July - 29 July at Phase 2CS is from 15 Aug - 16 Aug (I assume you are not eligible for the earlier Phases, although I guess this could be wrong if you were also a PR during your school age years and attended a local school, i.e Phase 2A from 6 July - 8 July).
Did you happen to sign the child up for Phase 3 (foreigners), which ended yesterday (6 June)?
I am not sure what you can do if they happen to get PR sometime later this year after the registration process has ended but before the 2023 school year starts. If approved, perhaps call MOE and they will treat the student similar to a returning (from overseas) student.
