Hi all,
Just to ask whether can LTVP (mother) work?
I know that she only needs WORK PERMIT to work, however her current employer said that above 50 years old, she cannot apply work permit anymore.
Is that true? I could not find information on the MOM website. She is afraid to change job because of that
Thank you all

Basically the employer is correct. a FDW cannot apply for a new job if not a M'sian, after attaining the age of 50. A M'sian, the cutoff is 58. in both cases cannot be renewed if already on a FDW permit once they hit the age of 60. So assuming that the mother is not Malaysian, then the employer is correct. She is out of luck once she turns 50. However her current employer can renew the WP to be valid up to age 60.
