Hi all,

Would be good to get your views/insights on my chances for PR. Please note, my application has already been submitted and has been pending 4+ months.

Application details:

1) salary: $195k + 5 month bonus (variable year on year basis)
2) industry: venture capital
3) age: 31
4) marital status: single, no kids
5) nationality: Indian
6) time in Singapore: 12 years
7) degree: high school from Singapore/bachelor degree from the united states

One point to mention, my family are Singaporean citizens (including my sister). They got their PR and Citzenship while I was studying overseas and my family also offered to fly me back to Singapore/pause my further education to serve NS. However, the immigration officer at the time declined and said I was too old and will need to apply on my own merit (I have highlighted this in the cover letter as well).

I don’t think it’s going to help whether he has documentation of this. It really just means when his family applied for PR/Citizenship he was above 21 already (correct me if I’m wrong OP) and so whether they flew him back to serve NS didn’t matter.

Apologies as I wasn’t clear. The immigration officer said he will make a “note of the fact that the family offered to bring the son back in the system”. My parents did ask for documentation but were told they cannot do that.

Mystic_river is correct. I was never PR/overseas for education when my families immigration status changed in sg.

Dear All,

Just wanted to get your view. Myself 37 years old from India staying and working in Singapore 10+ years and working for Global Bank with 170k+ Annual salary with Bonus and my wife is 30 Years old, staying in Singapore for 10+ years and she is not working. We were married for 10 years.

We have 2.5 years baby boy who born in India and currently going playschool in SG.

Applied for PR 5 times so far. 5th Attemp status is pending. Applied on May 2021 and updated ICA about my promotion in Dec 2021. In Feb 2022, ICA sent an email for my wife education details and i responded and in May 2022 ICA sent an email for Family Vitae and i responded.

Background of my family details are, My wife does not have siblings and her father in retired teacher now he is 72 years old and mother is 65 years old. They have pension and rental income. So no dependent on us. From my side, father is pass away and mother is in her 60's looking after agriculture farms and i have one younger brother and he is into Business.

After 17th May 2022 , no update from ICA. I know ICA will take time to come back and writing here will not change my outcome also

Here just wanted see any similar cases and their outcome.

Just to update all, still my application is pending. Its been 16 months. There was query about my mother in law profile on 4th August. After that no other update. Not sure whats happening. Hopefully some good news

Hopefully. Its hard to take it if rejected after waited for this much long time.

Last time i did apply in 202 and rejected in 6 months. With this application included my son and better salary

I don't understand why accomplished Indians are applying for PR and ICA would be making a mistake giving PR to 180-250k salary Indians. These people's kids are also going to be accomplished individuals and won't stay in Singapore. They will fly to US, Europe or somewhere for their education and then their parents will also follow them or go back to India and stay near their extended families.

ICA would be better off giving PR to average Indian families, who would most likely stay in Singapore, as they would value Singapore's education system and won't have a lot of money to send their kids overseas either.

Do you think that accomplished Indian (who are applying for PR) can't get a job outside of Singapore at present ? If they or their kids will think that US/Europe are better, then their parents should make their life easy by immigrating to those countries now, rather than letting their kids struggling (again)to get citizenship of other countries.

So I think every Individual has their own preference. Its subjective and not objective!
