Low chance. May get better after a couple of years

Why is that? I actually thought OP stood a pretty fair shot - ethnic quota is OK, married with a son. Only thing is duration of stay isn't too long and salary might be considered a flight risk.

Ethnic quota ok? It is the the third biggest ethnicity with the highest number of applicants - its cut throat to say the least

2nd smallest ethnic bucket would be a better way to describe it in my opinion.

Whether it's the 3rd largest or the 2nd smallest is immaterial. The facts of the matter remain the same and at least they are only competing amongst themselves and not all applicants. Of course that could be looked at as a positive or a negative depending on whether the glass is half full or half empty, yeah?

Still better than vying for a spot in the "others" category.

Agree. It's about standing out among your competition. Though competition is weaker in some groups and larger in others depending on the size of the group.

Yes you're right, I was just thinking of it relative to the others category.
