Parent renounce PR, what will happen to kids ?

Hi wonders if anybody know what will happens in these scenario
Kid is late teens, born in Singapore, still studying.
Got PR since birth due to parents PR status.
Now the parents are mid 50s and thinking of renouncing PR to withdraw CPF and went back to home country while kid prefers to stay in Singapore to finish study + works.
In this case, what will happens to the kid's PR ? will it also be renounced since the sponsor is no longer hold PR status ?

How do I renounce my Singapore Permanent Residence (PR) status?
Answer:
To renounce your Singapore Permanent Residence (PR) status, you are required to report in person to ICA, with a request letter* and the following documents:
Entry Permit Card;
Singapore Blue Identity Card; and
Re-Entry Permit
*The request letter should state your decision to renounce your PR status and the reason(s) for doing so, as well as signed off by yourself.
Should you misplace any of the above documents, a police report or statutory declaration (SD) on the loss is required. You are also required to bring along your latest passport for verification.
If you are based overseas, you may submit your renunciation request at the nearest Singapore overseas mission.
If the main applicant intends to renounce the permanent residence status, all the dependants who obtained the permanent residence status under the sponsorship are also required to renounce together with the same procedure.

The key word is dependant. When can a child be considered no longer a dependant of the main applicant? I can’t imagine anyone below age 18. Is it a simple age cut-off? I don’t have the answer, but once they are no longer considered a dependant, I imagine REP renewal will be rejected until they have a job to support themselves.

Very likely it is a simple age cut-off above/below age 21 (age of majority here, REP renewals for children and most immigration applications also focus on this age).

Below 21 years old, a person's dependent PR is still tied to the sponsor's PR. After 21, the person can renew REP by themselves. In this case, it is possible that they will need to renounce as a family but it is best to ask ICA directly.

I guess will need to wait additional couple of years until the kid's can apply by herself.

When is your next REP due? You may be able to leave before she turns 21 but you probably can't renounce (i.e. will need to keep CPF balance here) until she can renew on her own.
