Not really a big surprise, there was a survey done some time back about this, and these options were among them. Some singles v happy to be able to apply for prime location 2-rooms.
as a young senior, I have mixed feelings about the label, but I'll take the goodies

Ah! You've got a good memory, I remember a couple years ago I participated in a survey about Singaporeans perceptions of the LGBT community. I believe the intention was to see whether or not they should repeal 377a. Clearly we know how that went.

Well this comes with the territory of subsidizing housing and enriching unfairly some and not others. You should only be allowed one HDB flat in your life and it should not be able to be sold (unless inherited). Transfers only allowed on extenuating circumstances. HDB have long since passed their useful mission and are now just a self perpetuating empire.

Good idea in theory, but not in practice.

How so?

Think about it. As it is now, the age of marriage is creeping up closer and closer to the 38 mark. And the kids are still living at home as don't want to marry or have a family until "they can afford it" - those who actually want kids and not poodles they can shunt off to the pound when they get tired of them. So instead of them buying a 3 room flat from the HDB (2 BR) They will need to buy a four room flat and allowing for statistical purposes (which for all intent is 50:50 boy/girl splits) They will need 3 bedrooms. This will drive up the price of that first/only flat at least, if not more than 100K. Will need to live at home that much longer and put off marriage & Pregnancy that much later.
