Hello all, wanted to seek your kind input on my chances of getting SC.

Profile:
China Passport, Singapore PR
Living in Singapore since 2000, PR since 2015.
Currently 35 years old.
Drawing 150k/yr base, 250k after bonus.
Both my parents have converted to SC successfully several years back.
Never been to NS (Applied PR successfully using professional status in 2015)
Working in MNC of international Trade.

I just received IPA for SC. Wanted to seek your kind guidance on time required till I receive my passport. As I have a business trip and 2 holidays coming up in July, October and Feb, would like to plan accordingly.

Do you think it can meet my travel dates for mid october?

Congrats on your IPA.

However you still have to complete the 3-step Citizenship Journey before you can go through the renunciation process (I don't know how long that takes with China) and get the appointment to take your oath of allegiance.

You have to take the oath before you can apply for your pink IC and red passport. (The IC and passport will be sent to a post office for you to pick up within a week of application.)

This entire process will take between 3 and 4 months. So I think October may be out for you - or at the least a very tight timeline.

the portal says ecure a slot doesnt it does that mean just book the session and mark as complete or do we attend it first. it isn't very clear online anywhere.

To attend any of the sessions, to book a slot in each session. The places get filled quite quickly. You have to complete all 3 stages of the journey and fill in the online survey for each stage.

The portal is in fact very clear. Take your time and read it carefully. If your English is not good enough, please ask someone who is netter at it to help you.

If you don't complete Citizenship Journey within the time frame you will probably have to reapply with no guarantee of success.

I suspect you misunderstood the advice from ICA.

You can only mark each of the 3 modules as complete when you have completed them and filled in the online survey after each one.

From what you have written, you are currently at stage 2.

At this stage there are three separate items you have to complete. 1. You have to do the e-journey, pass the quiz for each stage of the e-journey and then complete the online survey. 2. You have to do the Experiential Visit, answer a quiz at the end of the Visit and then complete the online survey. 3. You have to take part in the Community Sharing Session and then complete the online survey.

Securing a slot for each of these activities is not enough. You have to actually do them to 'mark them as complete'.

Of course you can always ignore this advice and just secure your slot without doing anything else and see what happens...

Yea it turned out to be a misunderstanding from their side as they called me later and said it shouldn't be a problem as long as I complete it and reply to an email they'll send that I've done so once I'm finished. Thanks for the help tho maybe someone else can read this and not make the same mistake
