Hey everyone,

I'm staying in Singapore until the first week of May. I'm not an expat (although I am thinking of moving and working here in the future), but am currently travelling around SE Asia and having a great time. I'm from London, UK and am British Chinese (my parents are from Singapore).

Anyway, I'd love to meet and hang out with anyone from this forum - expats and locals alike - race, age, sex not an issue as far as I'm concerned. Would be happy to go to any bars, clubs, cool spots anywhere really that you can suggest.

Let me know if you want to meet up!

Cheers! :D

sounds good

Yes, of course you can join!

One possible venue that's been mentioned - thanks KT - is a place called The Living Room. It's at the Marriot Hotel which is located at the intersection of Scotts Road and Orchard Road, so it's very central.

Check it out: http://www.barnoneasia.com/

But if anyone here has other suggestions then please post them here, or let us know what kind of night out you want. I mean:

Casual or Trendy?
Cheap and cheerful or reassuringly expensive?
Party time or reading a book with a cup of hot chocolate (in which case go to Borders).
.....and on and on......

Hopefully we can all settle on a place before the end of today (just in case people who aren't working tomorrow don't have internet access at home).

:D

So much for that!

Ok, I'm going to suggest a place. How about meeting at 8pm in Indochine in Clarke Quay? It's a pretty cool environment with music, a dance area and a few sofas if you just want to chill out. Good mix of expats and locals too.

The dress code is fairly relaxed (t-shirt and jeans are ok), though when I was there last weekend most people looked quite stylish. Not sure about flip-flops and shorts though!

And....if we don't like it, there are plenty of other places in Clarke Quay that we can try.

Anyway, anyone who fancies coming along tonight (Sat) please pm me and I'll send you my phone number.

Ok, Indochine at 8pm it is. That's tonight - Saturday 23rd April.

See my above post for more information, or click on the link to the Indochine website.

Please pm me if you are intending to come. :D

(To the moderators - hope you don't mind me changing the thread title)

Sorry, for those of you who are just planning on turning up, I should describe my appearance:

British Chinese, short hair, rectangular specs, short-sleeved white shirt with light and dark blue stripes, green/grey cargo trousers.

Ok, see you there.
