Hi

Where is the best place to buy plants for the condo. My Condo needs a bit more green. Like to buy maybe a bannanatree or hibisucs, something local.

Any suggestions where to go?
Has Singapore a flower market?

You could try Ikea on Alexandra Road - that has a selection of greenery - it's a more western (Swedish) style of course.

I have a lot of luck at Upper Thompson Rd: Goodwood, Ji Mei and Far East. Make sure you ask the staff about bring the plants inside -- doesn't usually work out too well.

Upper thomson road is a good one indeed. Another option is at bedok south avenue 1, there are a few garden centers there. They do good consulting (what to buy or not, how to maintain etc), they have a good range of choice, but they are more expensive than the one on Upper Thomson Road.

One tip from experience: look at the possibility of putting them in hydroculture instead of clay / soil. Keeps away the insects inside the pots and is easier to maintain.

I agree with Upper Thompson for plants. Not with the fact that you can't keep them inside. I have at least 8 large indoor plants and one tree and they are all thriving. I just water and fertilize as the nursery instructed me when I purchased them.

I recently discovered this place, which really offers value for money as they are wholesalers.

However, really need own transport cos it's in an isolated place, in the Yishun area. I would recommend this place if u're buying by the truckload.
