My husband has got job in Singapore and his EP(Q2) application was submitted to MOM lastweek.
Just wanted to know, the possibility of getting EP? Is there any rejection criteria?
Need this information, as he has already resigned from his current job.
His qualification is M.E (Computer) with 5 yrs IT exp. Please advise.

my guess his EP application will be approved. The Spore economy is slowly growing unless there is surplus of IT people or economy is in recession. If it's such the case the government will stop issuing/renewing EP.

I think he must be offered 2500$ minimum so he can have his family on DP

Hi Indian,
Let me give you a bit of advise. Normally on Q2 pass type - your husband will not be allowed to bring his family - which is you and your kids (if any) to Singapore.
A Q2 employment pass only allows the employee himself to go to Singapore alone.
Your hubby may want to check with the HR department of his company about this.
If rules have changed now - I am not sure, but it is good to check.

There is no official Q2 pass anymore. From the MoM website:
"S Pass (A new category of Work Pass which replaces the Q2 Pass with effect from 1 July 2004)
- For foreigners whose monthly basic salary is at least S$1,800. S Pass applicants will be assessed on a points system, taking into account multiple criteria including salary, education qualifications, skills, job type and work experience. A levy of S$50 per month will apply and there will be a 5% cap on the number of S Pass holders in each company based on the company's number of local workers and Work Permit holders."
The site also says that a DP will be issued to S pass holders if their salary is at least $2500 per month. Might want to check that out.
Here is the website.

Good luck to you and hubby.
