Hi guys its me again, pls download the stinger prog from the ntu server, even though u think tat u are not affected. Its just to play safe. u can also open up ur task manager to see if theres a iexploree.exe file running. If yes, u are infected with the worm.

Try this:

Goto Start > Run > Type this > sysedit

Sysedit will open up a few files, look for the file win.ini

See if this sentence is present in the 1st few lines >
" Load c:\ " or " Run c:\ "

If the above is present, delete the sentence off.

If the above not present, than goto Start > Run > Type this > regedit

Regedit will open.
Goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Goto SOFTWARE
Goto Microsoft
Goto Windows
Goto Current version
Goto Run
Look at the right side, see if the value " C:\ " is present. If it is then highlight it, right click and select delete.

Hope the above will solve your problem.

If u guys recieve a mail titled call My details PLS DO NOT open cos its a deadly worm. Its called W32.welchia.worm or W32.Repad.Worm. W32.Repad.Worm is a worm that attempts to spread through the KaZaA file-sharing network. The existence of the file st01b.reb or SysTray32.dat is an indication of a possible infection. The first time the worm is executed it will shut down the computer.

Yup, its very important to have those anti virus programs installed, and apart from this u will need a firewall to prevent penetration from hackers. search under firewall at www.download.com

Alert! Latest virus!

Latest virus: W32.Swen.A@mm

If you have anti-virus software installed, go for LiveUpdate.
If you don't, better go for online scan, or best get one installed.

I have 2 sites recommended:
1. For removal tool >>http://securityresponse.symantec.com/av ... .list.html
2. For online scan >>http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
