OK, I accept that owning a car is expensive, etc. etc., but, on the basis that I'm willing to spend the money on a car, which of the two presents the best value for money?

Ride a bicycle instead. Much healthier, much more enjoyable, much more environmental friendly, and of course much cheaper!
