I seriously need help here. Wold like to bring my gf to a place to eat. Anyone has any recommendations.However, being a student, i do not want to spend like a bomb. Somewhere SG $50 for 2 is fine. Anyone?

For that budget I find this French restaurant very nice. If you stay away from the alcohol, you should be able to have a nice dinner for less than 50 Sing, as they have menu's that are cheap and very tasty. And with a little bit of imagination it is a romantic place, as somehow you do feel being in one of these Parisien restarants somewhere in a local neighbourhood in quartier latin

How abt Halia at Botanic Gardens.Hows the price there?

Halia is definitely in a different price range, I am afraid. I would reckon you will pay around 50 Sing per person at least for a meal without drinks at Halia.

Halia is just more exclusive, and that shows in the price you have to pay...

there's one restaurant at labrador park.. think its called olive sth.. cant really remember thou...nice ambience at night =p and its quite affordable

With our budget, you can eat your hearts out at Warung. Thats
if your girl fancies INdonesian food. It's a nice and cosy dining place, dinner have yet to see crowds, but you can give it a try.

FOOD LOVER

you can try the outdoor dining area at da paolo at cluny court. Pasta is about $18-$20 but non pasta is about $30. for 2 persons I guess you can afford two have 2 pasta dishes and 1 dessert for your budget.. but the place is quite romantic.. it's just next to Serene Centre on Farrer Road along Bukit Timah.

Aioli is quite affordable. Just near Amoy st. + its french food!

Had a bite here last night, another one, that might fit into your budget and quite a cosy place:

Pivdofr at Liang Seah street, entangled between North bridge road and Beach road.

They have a nice good tasting menu for S$15.50 nett pp. fresh soup, a drink, fish or meat, dessert, salad and tea or coffee. Not bad at all, ambience again is French style.

If you don't fancy that one, lots of cheap alternatives along the street there.

Hmmmm...Why don't you bring her to Mcdonalds or KFC? You don't have to worry about burning a "huge hole" in your pocket and also your gf will be able to order food at ease without worrying about some budget constrait. With $50, 2 of you should be able to feel your stomaches for the rest of the day and probably the next morning if you are lucky, no? I symphatise your gf btw.
