Firstly, you will need to look at the causes..why are you unable to sleep well. Is it the environment your are in? anxious about something? Our body functions at its optimun when we rest enough (not stressed out), eat the right stuff, go for a walk or jog or go for a swim..have some fresh air...helps to relax your body.
Taking medication is only a short term solution. Maybe a change of life style may help or take a holiday.
All the best

it could be due to yur pressure in sch. and now work. i use to sleep 6 or less hours during my sch days. when i started working, i got to ard 7 hours becoz i'm dead beat after work most of the time. now i'm back to 6 hours, becoz as u climb higher, u get more work load. weekends is usually a time for recharge. so u must take care, and know what's bothering u.

I don't take slimming pills, it just suddenly occured and after then everynite I just can't fall asleep.
ON the web I have read that sometimes are are so conscious to make ourselves fall asleep that we are too stressed to sleep...I have tried melatonin, sleeping pills, chinese doc, western pyschiatrist, drinking chamomile tea, trying aromatherapy oil...but all doesn't quite work, and the sleeping pills get less effective over a period of time..

Most of the sleeping pills belong to the class or group of chemicals called benzodiazapines or in short Benzos. The side effects of this particular class of chemicals will cause physical dependence on the patient taking it.
Chemicals in this Grp are like Diazepam (Valium), Nitrazapam (Nitrados), Clonazepam (Rivotril), Lorazepam (Ativan) & Flurazepam (Dalmadorm)
Initially u will need 1 tablet to fall asleep, over a while u need 2 tabs to sleep then more & more to sleep....
Now a newer class of hypnotic is developed , Stilnox & Imovane which r better and cause lesser dependence.
Currently i am taking piriton to fall asleep...

Hm.. do you sleep with lights on or off.. ?? I used to sleep with lights on.. but later i came to know that it is not as good.. cos the body still thinks that you r working. So maybe off lights is my first introduction. Doctors normally gave sleeping pills if you have sleeping problems.. But it has its side effects.. and not targeting at the actual problem..
I think it is ur stress that cause the insomnia.. You can try to tackle that problem first.. Maybe by getting away from work .. to have a short break.. or induce urself to SPA pr massage.. need to make urself relax and not too uptight.. i always fall asleep after massage ..
I have personally heard many people try aromatheraphy.. for insomnia and for stress .. it is very effective.. What kind of aroma have u used before?? There are many kinds of aromatheraphy nowadays... all proclaims the same.. but not necessarily. We need to be smart consumer..
