Hi Levent,
I wish to learn Turkish from natives living in Singapore. Do you consider giving lessons?

Hi Elizabella,

Yes there is a community for Turks in Singapore. Turkish Cultural Centre in Singapore:
http://www.turkishcentre.com/
"Its mission is to establish intersociety dialogue by means of culture, arts, education, and economy. It further aims to maximize the already-established friendship and fraternity between Singapore and Turkey."

Emre

oh, I was pretty happy when I stumbled upon this page! It is so difficult to find much turkish-related things in Singapore other than the abundance of turkish restaurants popping up.
Emre, does the turkish cultural centre organise activities for non-turks to learn more about their culture? I did drop them an email once to express my interest in their activities but I've never gotten any reply from them ever since. So, I've an impression now that they don't welcome non-turks :p
On a sidenote, does anyone happen to know of a place here in Singapore that I can get good baklava? I've been on a search for it but every turkish restaurant I visited here serves pretty bad baklava. None is half as good as those we can get when we walk into any random pastane on the streets in Turkiye.
It would be nice to get to know turks here in Singapore. Just like Elizabella, I'm extremely interested in turkish culture and language. I took a course in basic turkish but its been an extremely long time that I had a turkish conversation so, I'm slowly losing my ability to communicate in basic turkish. Elizabella, maybe we could practise turkish together!
I really hope to get to know turks in singapore. I really miss life in Turkiye, so, it will be great to have some turks to talk to! Hope to hear from someone soon!
Cheers,
Azleen.
