Ok, my guy and me are taking the big step...so we decided to buy a condo. But he has no idea, therefore leave all decision to me

Sad to say I have no idea either :???: I need help!!! I don't really enjoy shopping for a condo! I have look thru a few website and I gave up! There's too many!!!

Any recommendation would be wonderful! :D

Ouch Ling...

Such a big decision, so much money involved and then you don't have a clue... :?

I would suggest you both start by summing up and brainstorming about what criteria are important, such as space, quality, location, new vs/ old, price, facilities etc etc.

The thing is, this is partly an emotional thing (start imagining how you decorate and how you gonna live together), but certainly it also has to be a rational decision, (criteria mentioned above).

And bot of you have expectations and wishes, for sure! So better discuss them before deciding on such a big thing?

My suggestion also is to just start looking around a lot, there's loads of new developments coming on the market, just look at the weekly advertissements in the Straitstimes for new condos. Go look at the showflats, just for getting ideas on what you want? And go see some older developments for a comparison. From there you will get into a discussion automatically, on what you like and don't like.

'Shop' around heavily first, before signing on any condo. It might not be your cup of tea or your biggest wish to spend a lot of energy on it now, but for sure you will regret later when it is not what you expected it to be and you didnot find that out on beforehand...

Eric,

Shop heavily is really not my cup of tea :-| Worst of all, we are similar in that way, we don't really spend much of our time at home anyway so we are not picky.

If heavy shopping is required, I would really leave the task to him.

You are right, since it's gonna be long term, we better put some effort in it. Right now, I just don't have the energy :?

thanks for the advise :)

ok, here's on topic: Ling, there's a unit for sale at our place, 2nd floor, small development / condo, 5 storeys high, unit is a 3 bedroom place, 1450sqf, great pool, condo is only 1 year old, 400m away from the beach, only about 30 units, lots of privacy and you'd be close to a Dutchman... 8)

Off topic:

No WNDC for me this week, still recovering from last week... :D

Nope, went for dinner with misses Eric, delicious food and great beers at Oosters. 3 reasons for not going to WNDC

serious Wimh, take care if you really got a flu... :-|
