Did you apply for the PR??
If so, was any time limit mentioned for you to re-apply again.

i applied for landed PR first with help of SMC (tel:67221766). then i found a job under S-Pass, same time when approval of my landed PR came and voila they process my PR on the spot-in one day only!!
find a company that you love working with and i am sure they would be happy to just provide you a letter to confirm that you are working with them. bad company won't do such a thing, no matter how good you are or how long you've been working with them! good luck and never give up for those who still waiting / looking....it's the same as death if you lose hope!

What's that SMC?
You're right in that sense, I guess. Professionals would have understood that people on P/Q/R/S passes need security more than provided for by these passes.
Instead, this Fortune 300 firm too gave some PR applicants here run-arounds - up till refusing to sponsor their applications

FORTUNATELY, it's not a requirement! Only a proof that one works here is...
I'm on EP still. I've done a little surveying amongst fellow Malaysian Chinese colleagues, and found that 6 months seem ideal. I'll give it a shot in 3 more months 8)
To the OP, check on MOM's website. There're 4 criterias to applying PR: 1) spouse is a citizen/PR holder 2) employment pass (don't remember if S is included) 3) ... 4) ...

I applied in Jan this year, but it was under the spouse scheme, they told me to reapply again next year March. Now i'm under S Pass, wondering if I'll have a better chance to apply under S Pass, or wait till March and reapply under the spouse scheme..Any advise?
