how to deal with lazy police officer in singapore. im really
annoyed by their dun care and rude attitude since last night
when i called for help about my drinking and abusive ex
husband. he almost coming home late every week just
to create havoc over the middle of night and beaten me
up blue and black sometime. that's makes me worries and
decided to double lock the door. it turns out to be my problem
who has double locked up the door and makes things difficult
for my ex who's also owner of the flat. when i was pinpoint by
the madarin speaking officer that things cannot be settle if i
still carry on seeking trouble with my husband. so i question
him if they are going to protect me if i may hitted by him , the
officer reacted so impatient for awhile and told me that's
my own affair they can't interfere my family affair but on the
other hand the chinese officer pinpointed me for locking my
ex outside the house. "my budda pls help!" the world is changed
when i was all the time remain silent and calm while my husband
who has physically and vulgary abusing me by words. so in this
case is that my retribution to bully by man and man officer
how should I handle lazy officer in future?

This doesn’t make a lot of sense, apart from poor English I don't understand when you keep referring to your ex and I doubt if the police are lazy. From what I can tell they are simply saying they cannot have anything to do with family matters - the way it was and still is to some extent in the UK.

hmm...i dont know about how to deal with lazy police officers but i do know a bit on how you can protect yourself from your abusive ex husband. you can apply for a personal protection order from the family court against him. do go to this link and read more about this "PPO" thingy.

hopes that helps.

Hi May4,
I gather you are not from Singapore and don't know your rights and also may not have friends or family here to assist you in your current time of difficulty ? If thats the case must be very frightening for you. I just searched google to try and find an abuse hotline for you to call, to receive some assistance, but was unable to find any local number. If you give me some more information may be able to offer some better advise.

Hi May
Sounds like you have a lot of trouble on your hands.
My advice is to go to you local Neighbourhood Police Centre and request to speak to a female officer and have a translator present - These are your rights. In your case I believe you should head of your trouble before it comes home veery nigth and take the agreessive approach.
Can I ask whcih country you are from?
BTW is all else fails you can talk to the womens charter and if you cant work that out then drop me a pm and I will give you the contact number for my lawyers.
Anyway take care and remember you are the victom - You just need to get your voice heard is all.

If the hubby beats you up, I really doubt the police will not interfere in Singapore...
Go to your General Practitioner, get a medical report made including pictures and get a lawyer after that. For sure you will be in good hands then.
