When you were at school...

What did you do that got you in the most trouble?

I was at an all boys boarding school in England that was run by monks (just setting the scene). I used to rent out a blue video for beer & cigarettes. Nearly got caught, had to create a wonderful spin about how someone accidentally recorded men & motors or VH1 one evening & I knew what tape it was on. Chinese whispers ensued & a boy from another house came looking for a hard core video. As I knew which tape it was on I gave it to him.

Large circle of lies, spiraled outwards. Had to chat to a couple of house masters, the head master & then left early that term as I had just finished my GCSEs (ooh showing my age there!). All went quite in the end & very anticlimatical but I was really worried I was going to be expelled.

So spill the beans....what did you used to get up to?

I went to a Boy's school to but it was a comprehensive (so they claimed) not a boarding school. About the only thing that happened here was cigarette smoking and occasional truant. No blue movies just the occasional porn mag picked up here and there. Away from school the A420 the original London to Bristol road was rife with traffic accidents. I remember one day an articulated lorry loaded with cider overturned and the emergency services cut down the trees and hedges in which it landed. Of course they didn't retrieve all the bottles. My brother and one other villager took a quite a few home and drank a few into the bargain, we all well underage drinkers of course. Real surprised you had videos they didn't exist when I was at school oops looks like I'm even older than you.

Where do I start :o

Got suspended for driving through Gloucester town center at lunch time in a Maxi. You may think that was a bit harsh but there were 12 of us crammed in it at the time!

When I was at technical college, at about 17 (so no excuses) I fancied having school dinner one day...and don't ask why, I didn't pay for it.....so there I was, took a dinner, said I was someone else, who wasn't at coll, and ate it. I think I did this twice.

Then I was found out and made up some cock and bull story about my mum going through a hard time, me not having any money (all lies) etc etc....and they said, 'Oh shame, never mind, just don't do it again' Whew.......the only trouble was that they rang my mum to ask if there was anything they could do to help her through her 'troubles.' Aw s..t!!!

To say that I got in trouble is an understatement. I knew by the way she was waiting on our front doorstep for me when I got off the bus that I was for it....ten times as bad as the trouble I got into when I sneaked two school dinners!! I wasn't allowed out for a month, no pocketmoney for that time either, and I had to go to my room after dinner each night and stay there. No tv's in bedrooms when I was a kid. I missed Starsky and Hutch, my fave prog and it was torture. It's true, best punishment is taking away privileges.

Had a girls cat fight...you know how girls fight.. it was funny how it all happened but nevertheless we got caught. Had to write a 1000 lines saying we were sorry and will never do it again. Made to pluck out leaves of some big bonsai plants too. Embarrassing really.

But what is school without memories right?

Now if we meet up we will always laugh at what we did then.

I wasn't an angel then but I am now..really :)

another thought - nicknames. Not yours per se but others/teachers that were amusing.

I knew a girl at another school called 'mouth' cos she got a pube stuck in her braces.

One male teacher was called 'bulge' cos he seemed to have a large one. He had no respect & when he was on duty the whole school whould chant "bulge, bulge, bulge, bulge" to the skol lager tune

Our librarian looked like Rowan Atkinson & when he was shouting at someone for talking in the library everyone would whistle the theme tune to Black Adder.

We had an Englidh teacher with no neck so, no suprise, he was called 'necky'

Any to add?

I knew a girl who's mother had the surname (family name) Gustard and had a friend called Bertha Jelly. So whenever they walked past the other kids they would say 'there goes jelly and custard!
:D :D :D :D
